Possum of Altitude's "Metalogy" conducted a short interview with DRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li at this year's winter NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 17-20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Watch the three-minute clip below.
DRAGONFORCE's latest Roadrunner effort, "Inhuman Rampage", was released in June 2006, and debuted at the plum #1 spot on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The album is experiencing a rocket-like surge in sales, due to the lead single, "Through The Fire And Flames", being the breakout track on the massively popular Guitar Hero III video game.
Fans have eaten up the video for the song, which features guitar virtuosos Herman Li and Sam Totman effortlessly trading licks while Totman tosses back a beer. The video has enjoyed over 2 million YouTube impressions, and was voted as "Best Video" in the 2007 Revolver Readers' Poll.
DRAGONFORCE has made an indelible mark on U.S. audiences in the past two years. The band spent much of 2006 and 2007 playing to rabid, sold-out crowds in the US. In 2006, they opened the Ozzfest 2006 main stage, enjoyed two completely sold-out headline runs and supported hard rock titans KILLSWITCH ENGAGE.
